The European Educational Research Association (EERA), Masaryk University and the Czech Educational Research Association are pleased to announce the 2019 EERA Summer School which will be held at Masaryk University in Brno, the Czech Republic, from 8 - 12 July 2019.


We invite 70 European doctoral and advanced research students to a five-day Summer School on the topic “Quantitative and Mixed Methods Research Designs: From designing to publishing”. The Summer School will take place at the Department of Educational Sciences, Faculty of Arts.


The Summer School aims to:
• open and promote a European research space for collaboration and networking between early career educational researchers
• explore the opportunities and challenges available through different analysis approaches in educational research projects
• provide insights into contemporary research topics, research questions and research methods.


The Summer School will offer:
Morning sessions with stimulating lectures on various educational research topics with experienced professors as well as opportunities to discuss and develop your own research project in collaboration with other research students and experienced tutors. There will be a visit to the beautiful historical town of Olomouc with original Marian plague column, town hall and unique astronomical clock. The five day course will be a mixture of lectures, workshops and peer group discussions. Students will be advised and supervised by experienced researchers. The Summer School will be held in Englisch. 3 ECT credits will be appointed.

Who can apply and what does it cost?
Applicants are doctoral and advanced research students who primarily come from or study in EERA‘s member countries.
Their thesis must relate to educational research.
The fee for the Summer School 2019 is 250 € (students from High GDP countries) or 130 € (students from Low GDP countries).
This fee covers tuition, accommodation, breakfast and lunch every day and a welcome reception and Summer School Party.
Participants will be expected to share a double room with a same-sex participant (a single room is possible with a surcharge).
Participants must cover their travel costs.
